[The Trellis Code Mystery] or "Taking the Long Way Home"

If your going to start going indepth on Trellis Coding and want participation
you might consider filling the Amatians in on what Trellis Code is.

It is my understanding the to be compliant with ITU-T V.34 Trellis Coding must be incorperated ( though I could be wrong) so does every Modem manufacture is pay MOT royalities?

To add to your research you might D/L and read the following, as it appears to be up to date.

R. D. Wesel, and J. M. Cioffi,
" Joint Interleaver and Trellis Code Design," to be in proceedings of Globecom 97, Phoenix, AZ, November 3-8, 1997.
ee.ucla.edu

There are a number of other files here as well such as

"Trellis Code Design for Correlated Fading and Achievable Rates for Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding" Chapters 1 - 8.

Warning! Be careful not to choke on your own words while there.

"Your Amati DMT modem will soon download with almost no interference. You can now send small amounts of information at incredible speed!"

Sorry Bozo, I couldn't resist, perhaps I should have just mailed them to you < G >

I really think it would be much easier for you to write Amati, MOT to answer your question.
