Actually, while I do have the problem that you describe, I just realized that I'm using a different model number router. I don't have the DI-604, I have the DI-624 (latest model/version number). And I use the D-Link AirPlus card (on a laptop) to connect.
Strangely enough, when I connect to AOL (via TCP/IP connection) I can access the htguide site from there. And sometimes once I have it open in AOL, I can then go back to IE and it will open there now too. (That works about 25% of the time - the rest of the time I still can't get the page via IE even after opening in AOL.)
I also tried on a desktop machine that is "wired" to the same router vs. the laptop being wireless. Cannot access the htguide page with that one either.
On the laptop I'm running Win98 (with the Dlink Airplus card), and on the desktop Win XP with an SiS 900 Fast Ethernet Adapter.
I should also mention another odd thing. When I am able to open the site on IE because I had it open in AOL first, that still doesn't get me anywhere. If (while still on IE) I then try to navigate to a page that hadn't been opened on AOL first, it will fail at that point. For example, I opened the htguide home page in AOL and was then able to open that same page in IE immediately thereafter. But when I switched to IE from there and clicked on any other link on the home page, I then get the "cannot find server/page cannot be displayed" error.
That being said, the OS and NICs don't seem to be the issue. Seems the only commonality is the DLink router. And it wouldn't appear to be an IE settings issue, since my AOL and IE share the same browser security/privacy settings.
It's pretty strange .. because until you raised your problem, I'd not noticed any issues with any other sites I frequent (from before and after router installation).
Hope that helps .. |
