Kerry has to continue to lie now and deny, deny, deny...
But what was he thinking? He attended meetings where there were many people. Why would he have thought that he could get away with that lie? He knows how thorough the investigations are into their pasts...and he did not plan for it. He hurt his credibility further, his party and his campaign, What a stupid decision on Kerry's part. That certainly does not impress me...

You're right. Kerry is lying. Assassination proposals are not something anyone would forget about.
The historian Nicosia is a Kerry supporter and he did Kerry a tremendous(!) favor by bringing the news out now. It's publicly availble info - he got it after all - what are the odds the Bush camp would neglect to bring this out in the fall if he hadn't aired the info now? Also note that Nicosia has had this info for a long time and he could have brought it out earlier when Kerry still had credible Democratic opposition - if he'd done that Kerry would have been gone by now and Edwards would be the Demo candidate.

“I think Senator Kerry better get his story straight on this,” Mr. Nicosia said.

He's right. But to get the story right, Kerry'll have to admit he lied.
