Saddam had and used chemical weapons, they had purchased nuclear development equipment, and they had Russian and Chinese missiles capable of carrying both chem and nuke warheads - or perhaps a chem warhead with dirty nuke material in it. And. since you obviously don't read the News, Al Qaeda has a number of small freighters capable of moving and firing those missiles from within a port like San Francisco, LA, New Orleans, Norfolk, Baltimore, NYC, or somewhere in the St. Lawrence seaway.
