I don't know a lot about Rush. I think he's a hypocrite, particularly with his narrow minded attacks. It's ironic that he attacked drug users, while he was addicted. I don't see anything that makes him a Nazi or someone whose beliefs mirror Hitler or his followers, do you? He's certainly a conservative. I don't agree with much of his social views. As you seem to follow my posts, you will see that I recently expressed my revulsion with respect to issues that are being brought up by religious extremists, issues which are pandering to base needs and, at best, are wasting valuable resources, scarce resources. The war on drugs, privacy, stem cell research, abortion, life style, etc., are each wars that should not have the time allocated to them. They are, with some exceptions, largely individual choice.
The term "Nazi" gets bandied about by ultra liberals when they wish to show their hatred of conservatives and I've even seen ultra conservatives call liberals "Nazi." It always amazes me how whacky leftists and whacky rightest often sound exactly alike, picking similar "scapegoats," even making the identical arguments.
Getting back to my use of the term, "Nazi." I've posted to a couple of cowering posters whose only agenda seems to be to blame everything on Jews, that is, everything from their own inferiority to every aspect of what is going on the world.
Bombing in Spain - must be the work of Jewish fascists.
Problems in France with Muslim head covering law - must be the Jews.
9/11 - Jews did it.
Iraq -Jews made Bush do it.
Media - Jews own it.
Higher interest rates - Greenspan, ditto for lower rates.
Kerry refuses Malaysian PM endorsement. Jewish blood.
Lost my job - boss is Jewish.
Lost my wife - new lover is Jewish.
These cowering posters are looking for scapegoats and excuses. They think they have an easy minority target or a willing bigoted glad-handing audience. I have expressed my opinions of their approach and pointed out how their reasoning is quite appropriately compared to Hitler. One poster has refused to even condemn the worst of Hitler.
We learned from the Nazis that appeasement and retreat in the face of hatred and bigotry is not the answer. Never again should this type of hatred be allowed to flourish.
So - I don't particularly like Rush or agree with much of his agenda as I understand it, but I don't think he's a Nazi. |
