I am going to have to rethink my views on this democracy thing. Oh it's fine I suppose as long as you keep it rooted in an isolated hot house surrounded by thousands of miles of ocean and faced with nothing worse than grizzly bears and fragmented tribes of barely post-neolithic competitors.
But take it out for a walk in the world and some Spartan is always going to come and kick your hiney into the next hemisphere.
No FL... nobody in the ME is dumb enough to want to implement democracy. They wouldn't last 10 months, much less 10 centuries.
...There are only two questions remaining for me. First of all, why the heck do we bother going to all the trouble and expense of maintaining an army, Pentagon, or DoD?

My other question is, of course, how long will it take for Israel to tell us to take our democracy and go stick it where the sun don't shine.
...My guess is two years max. Yes, they might be able to make do for another two years under the current "Just Humor Them" policy. But Iran should have tested their nukes and filled the Iraq Gap in no more than 2 years.
There won't be much point in playing patty cake with President Kerry's proselytizing for democracy at that point.
