the firesale privatization of the Iraqi assets?

There have been some remarks by Gartner (Bremers predecessor) recently in the NYT, and I just listened to a radio report, where an expert said it encompasses about 80% of infrastructure and future oil sales which is now mostly in hand of US companies.
It's pretty intransparent, of course. If you remember what kind of opportunities for some happy fews have been created by the liberalisation of the US energy markets ....
But I'm going to dig. Stay tuned.
