Great points, I agree with them all.

On a personal note; I do believe Saddam was in bed with Al- Qaida, and other terrorist groups such as Hammas. I don't believe he planned the attack, but I do believe he supported Al- Qaida, whom he knew despised America and was going to attack using hijacked planes.

After we routed his armies in the first Gulf War and kicked him back to Iraq, I think he secretly supported a host of individual thugs and groups he believed despised America and sought to destabilize it.

The Kurds gaining legitimacy in the north and basically operating their own independent nation, was a constant sore spot he just couldn't live with. And without America's help he would have been free to launch more chemical attacks against them.

The money spicket for Islamic terrorism came largely from Iraq and SA. Turning the spicket down to a trickle, will over time prevent the growth of terrorism. Ignoring that piece of the puzzle would have set us up for another 9/11. Therefore, Saddam and the Bathists had to go. They were all terrorists. They terrorized their own population for decades, and raised terrorists for the rest of the world to deal with.
