Art & Riechers;
But the price can be manipulated by the government as easy as the producers! In the case of OSB - why did the price remain dirt cheap during the entire housing boom? It was because of the constant tug of war between supply and demand. Capitalism at its best! NO government interference!

We are now in the midst of a paradigm shift whereby corporations get fat and the consumer gets screwed. The real evil in my mind is that capitalism is interfered with by government. You are seeing it across the board. Why at these prices is our government buying up oil to place in strategic supply? If the government actually wanted lower prices you don't think Bush could say a few words to the right people? You don't think the government should stop buying at these high oil prices to just place oil in reserve?

The danger is when corporations and government are in bed togther and are willing to mess with free capitalism. Then the manipulations of price can have dangerous and long lasting effects - er, train wrecks!
