US involvement in general was limited to trying to prevent one side from prevailing over the other. They sent in arms in order to discontinue a war? That works out well doesn't it. They wanted to NOT have Iran take over Iraq and, irony of ironies, whose pilgrims are streaming into Iraq now? It's bizarre, it's ironic and it doesn't go the way the admin didn't plan it.
