Plug-and-play along with the major CEM licensing deals for Gemstar was why I came back. The deals with the carriers have been nice and received all the attention BUT the retail sector and the dominance thereof is what I find so compelling. While SFA is having a spasm, Gemstar-TV Guide might be crossing the chasm ... at least this is what I'm banking on. Motorola is licensed by Gemstar. It already has the retail brand name and distribution channels. Scientific Atlanta needs to work on all the above.

Watch Sony's PSX. This is an incredible product. They just announced (CEBIT) launch in Europe near the end of this year. It should have Gemstar's Guide Plus+. They will launch in Japan in April with E-Guide (confirmed)aboard. Let's hope the US and TV Guide On Line aren't far off.
