You do not consider his determination to fight us in the first Gulf War irrational? Or his willingness to allow us to stomp him again this time, rather than fully cooperating with the inspectors? Plus, you may consider it rational to behave in a wanton manner against your fellow man, but I do not. Rational self- interest presumes that one has goals that make sense, not that one has drives that cause all kinds of socially destructive results.
