Lets face it, the world is a mess..the economy is a mess and the equities market is a mess....not a good equation for the future....and I see very little that is going to change this anytime soon....honestly, at this point, even if we caught or killed OBL, I don't think even that good news would be good for more then a temporary and short lived pop.....

I'm with you here. Terrorism to me is a personal concern but not an economic one. If we caught OBL, we'd get a short term rally but then the markets would get back to focussing on the real issues which are oil prices, crashing dollar, no jobs and a deficit that is the size of the *entire* US military budget. Last year the market rallied when those high GDP numbers came out as if 04 was going to be a real 90s-style recovery. Then every month jobs disappointed and last month really took the cake. If we don't add jobs, and I see no evidence that we will, then there is no way to get this deficit under control, since tax receipts are continuing to decline. Offshoring has destroyed the tech growth engine in the US and that was the cash cow. Now what is our plan? Oh, we don't have one.
