What made me suspicious was the almost full extension of both arms standing straight with a big smile. Wound in that abdominal area, if they are deep enough, and when stretched, it would have caused plenty of OUCH! and cause an automatic reflex to crouch forward and a grimace of pain. Maybe Taiwan medicine has pretty good pain killer combined with laughing gas. Who knows?

On the other hand, I am not certain of the KMT opposition's intention. I think it's a case of the mainlanders (KMT) versus the locals (represented by Chen). But the locals are Fujienese - have they forgotten that? The situation is rather weird. Maybe they don't want to be dictated by the northerners, or maybe only waiting for more socioeconomic reforms in China before they decide it's good enough to rejoin their brothers. In 10 to 20 years, they have no other choice but to reunify.
