I don't think anything or anyone can ever change the harsh worldview "realities" of hard right wingers -- some of whom we see on a 24/7 basis right here on SI.

I think that they find the intellects and behavior and life experiences of OTHER PEOPLE threatening to the point of paralysis.

They want to STOMP THOSE PEOPLE OUT -- they want to "not to have to think" about "THEM." Those truly frightening and threatening OTHER PEOPLE. Most especially, LIBERALS in America. The educated. The open-minded. The PROGRESSIVES who don't hate "everybody else."

It's a psychology of paranoia and childlike envy.

This is the mindset of Karl Rove himself.

That's what drives him so single-mindedly to "excel" in promoting the Bush regime.

The SI -- and Real-World -- Wingers don't -- rather, CAN'T allow themselves to -- see how these maniacs are using them to voluntarily contribute to their own demise.
