lorne, the problem with Bush is that he abandoned the war on terrorism and diverted all of US' resources to Iraq. Saddam did never represent a Islamic terrorist threat. In fact Osama considered Saddam an infidel since he invaded another Muslim country, Kuwait. So Saddam's relation with Al Qaeda was estranged.

There was absolutely, and I repeat absolutely no reason for Bush to go to Iraq. That is where the Germans and French differed with Bush. They wanted Bush to go after the Islamists. IN fact they kept their militaryforces in Afghanistan in pursuit of Al Qaeda whereas Bush turned the US military towards Iraq. Bush found nothing in Iraq. Now he says the Iraqis are better off without Saddam. We ask, is the world better off. Heck no. The terrorists are bombing at will and at a time of their choosing.
