So not as good as some expected.

That's a step in the right direction to be sure, providing updated guidance.

Looks like q1 revenues will come in at seasonal levels after all below q4's of $1.2 billion as suggested by Smith not-so-Baloney after all. Also looks like year over year, revenues will be some 60% to 70% improved and certainly sounds like q1 will deliver a modest profit in q1 compared to the year ago loss of $146 million.

Relatively speaking, sounds like AMD is forging ahead like gangbusters...but record q1 revenue estimates by some here (i.e. me) would appear to be overly optimistic!

The great thing about this update is that it reduces the likelihood of any major q1 surprise and does provide positive forward guidance!

Given an A64 transition phase, q1 performance looks to be solid and transition looks to be well on target! and yr/yr growth of 60% to 70% and an earnings improvement by $150 million is news worthy of accolades!

I'd have to think, on the basis of that update, that AMD's bottom is in and that price strengthening going forward will be the general rule!
