I think that RGFX marketing leaves alot to be desired, but I do feel that they may address it in the near future. They seem to think that people will beat down their door if they can make a nice product. While this may be true in the higher end printers (DCS printers), this is not true for mid range and lower end printers where product awareness is the only thing that will help sales. The only reason that they have sold any P5000s at all is because of the awards that they have won. I have recently seen businesses purchase printers that are inferior in both price and performance only because they don't know any better.

I also believe that if RGFX doesn't address this problem soon, the competition may grab their opportunity.

Sam, I believe that the Mimaki head may not have tested the head to international standards. This is probably worth a look. It *is* much cheaper though, so if it can handle the throuput that the 5000 can, then I can't see why RGFX wouldn't adopt it and add a higher resolution mode (720 dpi). The number I gave you was for ICS which may explain why the company has never heard of RGFX.
