LOL! Iraq's military was castrated by the sanctions. The rest of the world's militaries continued just fine.

Please. No one had any certification of this until Bush came along. The issue does not even concern Iraq’s military. It concerns Saddam’s ability to create WMD. If Saddam could build and maintain hundreds of opulent palaces despite sanctions, he very likely could build biological and perhaps even nuclear weapons. That was the concern and it was quite valid especially since Saddam had an obligation to verify his WMD status.

I said "in Iraq". And, in fact, Saddam kept Al Qaeda out of Iraq. Bush has let them in.

Well. Your point dies because whether in Iraq, Afghanistan or elsewhere, Al Qaeda’s general strength has measurably decreased. Indeed Al Qaeda once ruled Afghanistan via the Taliban and now because of Bush that is no longer true. In fact, because of Bush and only because of Bush, Al Qaeda now rules nothing at all. It is now a mere pest, just as it has always been.

The cause of Al Qaeda was the U.S.-led plan (aided by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and many others) to create an army of fanatical Islamists in Afghanistan, with the purpose of directing terrorism at the USSR.

Even if this is true, quantitatively, this was not “Al Qaeda.” It was a tool to help take Afghanistan from the Soviets. Al Qaeda today is not that tool. It is instead a terrorist group that is hostile to American interests. Bush did not cause either of these “Al Qaedas.” So this whining of yours about how Al Qaeda has now shifted its focus to Iraq is futile. Whether in Iraq, Afghanistan or even here in America, Al Qaeda was hostile to us long before Bush. And unlike with leftist leaders, Bush has actually done something about it.

Well, there was the commander who said they couldn't do an evaluation because [Bush] was never around. -g-

Reasonable men will recognize this “evidence” of yours as being of the half-baked anecdotal sort. You must do better. I win this point because my evidence has authority – indeed it is ultimate authority that you simply cannot trump. To support my position, there are official documents from the United States government that declare Bush honorably dispatched all of his duties to his country. This little tin “commander” of yours could easily be (and very likely is) a military leftist in the order of Wes Clark and John Kerry.

You have any evidence of this?

Informed people know the World Trade Center, two American embassies and an American warship were all attacked by Al Qaeda during Clinton’s tenure, and yet America sat on its hands under the leftist president. The Clinton Administration has been criticized considerably for its inaction here. Contrariwise, under Bush, when terrorists struck us once, America literally took control of two entire countries, Afghanistan and Iraq, she killed many of Al Qaeda’s leaders and operatives, she captured others and continues to put many others to flight. It is quite apparent that leftists have never defended this country.
