Hauppauge has been a well-known brand for TV-Tuner & Capture cards. They can turn your PC into a TV and Video Recorder. With Hauppauge's MediaMVP, the reverse is possible: You can now playback Music, Video and Picture from your PC on the TV. Your viewing experience will enhance further if you connect it to a large screen TV and Hi-Fi system, you can sit comfortably on your sofa and control the playback with a remote control.
Although this can be done if you hook up your graphic card to the TV and sound card to the Hi-Fi system, most people usually place their TVs in the living room while the computers are in the study room. This is rather impractical because signal quality drops if your TV is too far away and you need to run to your computer to make any adjustment.
Hauppauge MediaMVP is a mini Linux setup box that can receive multimedia data such as movie clips, mp3 and jpeg picture from a Windows 2000/XP computer through an Ethernet cable. Since the cable can be as much as 100m long, you can now playback these data even your computer is located a few rooms away.
