Nadine, I guess what I meant to say is that his actions have not been conducive to peace...and neither the Palestinians'...imo, they each seem to not want to "go there" as if being in turmoil is all they know...peace...uncharted territory challenging inbred paradigm of an eye for an eye mentality...So imo, both are at fault.

You might accuse Sharon of this (personally, I think it's a bum rap even for Sharon), but who was Prime Minister in September 2000 when Sharon took his little walk? Ehud Barak, the most dovish PM in Israeli history, who together with Bill Clinton, offered Arafat 95% (+ swaps) of the territories, and got a terror war for a counter-offer. If Arafat didn't like Sharon, maybe he shouldn't have elected him.

The Israelis are ready to make a peace. BUT, they are not ready to commit suicide, either individually or nationally.
