OK but I wanted to point out that although this decade appears to have some similarities with the 70s with inflation (gas) coinciding with wage pressure, the business climate in the US is better than the 70s for sure. I like Google and Juniper as two US companies with the potential to be the Microsoft and Intel of their day, or Cisco whatever. In the 70s not only did we have a crappy macro climate but our industries were literally falling apart. Tech was up and coming but too small to matter. In this decade, our companies are competitive- big difference there. Also nanotech and robotics coming.
