Some follow-ons to Red Storm at Sandia described in this PDF: sna-2003.cea.fr

AMD must be delivering 10,000 Opterons to Cray about now if this thing is going to be working in August.

Chart on p. 16 - ASCI Q missed its design goal by 33%, what was that?

ASCI Purple comes next. 100 TF vs. Red Storm's 41 TF, set to use Power 5's, contract ~1/05

ASCI BlueGene/L is 360 TF, design goals completely changed towards lower power processors (p. 25,26). CPU chips are spec'd to be dual core, 700 MHz, 15w card has either 2 or 4 CPUs, seems to be spec'd for either 2 flops/cycle like AMD chips or 4 flops/cycle like IBM chips.

However (p. 21), both Purple and BlueGene may fall back to as little as 60 TF, which is I think less than the expansion capability of Red Storm.

Presentation was made 2003, so maybe further decisitons have been made.
