"I am persuaded that all people have enough raw "information" to understand that there is a Personal Creator, to whom we are morally responsible. "
Well, this is not supported by any fact whatsoever. Even a cursory glance at the world population of six billion does not demonstrate any "raw" information was received by anyone. All rocks heading downhill in an avalanche does NOT demonstrate "personal messages of moral responsibility" to each rock, merely because they all act in a "similar manner".
Heck, I'll go for =six= instead of 60,000 stone arches.... ANY "raw" source of "information". NONE is provided.
How about more stone tablets? Big ones, so they cannot be carried (and hidden. Darn, why didn't god think of that with Moses? Save him a trip uphill, and everyone gets a copy.) I like the question a journalist put to the Pope: "If there is a God, why is He hiding out?" We =all= want to know!
As I gathered history and quote to rebut your arguments, Greg, I had an "epiphany". "Why do this, Scott? It's like chrome-plating a mosquito. Difficult, and ultimately unappreciated. For what end? The most thoroughly-reseached, 'credentialed' statement will end up like all of Solon's and many others. Just further down the list and forgotten." And McRitchie?? 100 percent unaffected.
"Greg" is "teaching"? How unfortunate. It's like trying to get to Valparaiso, Indiana, and Mr. McRitchie the guide, has them headed across the Panamanian jungle, whacking and hacking their way to "Valparaiso"....
Chile.. When students disbelieve the ridiculous, bury them in "Olde Englishe" words from others to make them further uncomprehending, and utterly ashamed that they "don't get it". The old "oh well" and go on.
Anyone stating nonsensical epithets like "Modern Science is neither modern nor science" should not be in the role of "teacher". |
