Whether one agrees with going to war or not, the question is do we as the US submit our policy and fate of the American people, to the approval of the UN. That is what Kerry is on record as saying he would have done.

Intelligence has been wrong about is the stockpiles of WMD. But if your read the Kay report, you will find that Saddam had active programs to develop WMD, an active program to decieve the inspectors and the full intent to resume full production once the inspectors were gone.

The question of WMD was not France and Germany's objection. They too (along with the UN) believed that WMD Stockpiles existed.
