Scott, while it's entertaining to read the ongoing developments in the Apple corporate soap opera, I try not to focus too much on the nits and the nats. I believe in Apple's products and brand name and loyal user base. Having said just that, it was a no-brainer to pick up AAPL in the 'teens. It's too easy to get distracted by all the fireworks. I think the record sales of OS 8 was a reminder to everyone that AAPL can still put out a good product on time, and that users remain loyal and HUNGRY for more advanced Apple products. Can you imagine how well Rhapsody will sell? Add in the fastest computers in the world by a growing margin, and Apple begins to look like Mercedes again. (Even Mercedes had its slump a few years back, but they're selling record numbers again today) Once Apple recovers some of the "envy" factor it had more of a year or so ago, then it will at least regain respect if not new converts.

I've never had any doubts that Apple would survive in some form or another because of their incredible user base and brand name. But the one element that has kept me cautious is the downward spiral made even worse by very negative press and consumer perceptions that Apple has already died. If Apple can overcome this, and they will if they can announce a profit soon, then they have a shot at becoming a real player again. The stock would then accordingly move up into the $30 range and possibly higher. That's about all I'm looking for right now.
