tlc,

I totally agree with the ritalin scheme you describe. But thats not enough for the big pharma. They need to invent or expand other "diseases". Depression is a big money maker. I often hear commercials describing the drug companies idea of depression. As well, I know a number of people diagnosed with same. Most often these people have major financial problems, shattered or broken relationships or other major problems. Voila! they're diagnosed with depression. What a surprise! This can extend to teenage emotional turmoil and, of course, the pharmas would like to proscribe to infants much like with the ritalin type products.

More marketing from the pharmas! I've recently noted commercials in which happy couple cavort and play with the voice over attributing their well being to a new drug. We are told to "ask your doctor" about such and such drug. No mention of any disease or malady. If you want to feel good, ask your doctor about our new drug! We own um(the doctors).
