As one who has served in the US army twice, I can't help but compare the military records of Clinton, Kerry, and Bush.
Clinton was opposed to the war in Viet Nam and he didn't want any Americans there, including himself.
Kerry was a true Viet Nam hero, who after seeing what was going on 1st hand, became opposed to the war, after serving with distinction.
Bush was for the war on Viet Nam. However, he checked that he refused to volunteer for overseas service when he was in the reserves. In other words, he felt it was fine for others to be killed in combat, as long as he was safe.
In the army, we labeled such people as, "Follow me men, I'm right behind you!" leaders.
We had contempt for that type.
