The problem is, the media are essentially leftist and as such are liars. They will therefore purposefully overlook the gross inconsistencies and their implications if by doing so they think they can take down Bush. It just doesn't matter that Clarke is using this to make money from a book. That ought to tell every rational person what is going on here.
The GOP needs to keep up the pressure, but turn it from Clarke to the Democrats. Clarke is finished whatever happens, and will need to make as much money on his book as possible. The GOP needs to calmly remove focus from Clarke, the man, and savage, repeatedly savage, his inconsistencies as if those inconsistencies come from the administration's enemies, the Democrats. They need to repeatedly and subtly (no hamfistedness here) show how, amidst America's struggle to defend herself, the Democrats have failed to align themselves with their country, but instead garnered the support of socialists such as Spain's new leader and other foreigners. They can even show how these foreigners have endorsed Kerry's presidential bid. Once the GOP establishes that Clarkes inconsistencies betray evil politicking during an election year, and as they show Democrats hating Bush's efforts to aggressively defend America, the proper message will be noted by Americans despite the leftist media.
I think, all-in-all, the thing goes well. Keep up the pressure on the inconsistencies and on how we are actually fighting the enemy for a change, a thing the Democrats didn't do for eight whole years, and watch what happens. Bush will decisively win the hearts of the voting public. |
