Mishedlo: You left the "g" out of "assignation." A Kerry assination is not totally out of the question. Assignation with whom? Count me as one who doesn't think it makes much difference to the U.S., economically, who wins the race. There may be a short term market reaction, but our problems are of bipartisan origin and baked in the cake at this point. A bet against the U.S. government (i.e., the consequences of its policies) remains one of the surest long term plays in the market (gold, energy, some foreign currencies, some defense and security companies).
