Ray, re Item #1:

Edmonds has been discussed in several articles by Justin Raimondo.

Given the amount of pulically available information, I would be reluctant to jump to any conclusions, but it is a story that bears watching.

For instance:

In the autumn of 2002, Sibel Edmonds, a former translator at the top-secret listening station maintained by the National Security Agency, stepped forward and testified that:

"Investigations are being compromised. Incorrect or misleading translations are being sent to agents in the field. Translations are being blocked and circumvented."

And of course the 60 minutes interview.

Edmonds is in a difficult situation. If her story doesn't get out, there is a danger that the problems will be ignored. If she reveals too much, then this could be of benefit to the terrorist.
