Having grown up around guns, my father was a hunter, both guns, and bow and arrows, I never was afraid of guns, unless they were in the wrong hands. IMHO it is outrageous to tie our policemen's hands with baby weapons when every 12 year old gang memeber has an outlawed gun... The problem seems to be with the mainstream media, never having been any closer to a gun than a police station, making them afraid of them.... they pass this fear and lack of knowledge on to the public... Educate the masses, and they might teach a ditzy head blonde news anchor how to hunt.
