>>> I am very concerned that all of the bad press about Bush is peaking too soon. There are many days left before the election.Bush's people are very resourceful and they have time to create a lot of distractions. One would be getting the United Nations support in Iraq and another would be getting Zapataro to leave Spain's troops in Iraq.<<<

I don't think so. What Bush and his inside club have done will live with them and follow them for the rest of their lives. Once Iraq's Bush-minted Gold Star mothers--of whom I'm confident will become organized this spring--combine with the 9/11 victim families they'll become a force in America too strong for Rove, et. al., to future trick.

The public pressure will mount, not decline.

The best strategy for Republicans, rather than attempt to defend the undefensible, would be to nominate someone other than Bush and concentrate on holding its edge in the Senate and the House.
