Newmont added an additional 2 drill rigs to the Midway discovery zone in Nevada. They began Phase I of their 600 hole drill program on Mar 4th with 2 drill rigs and without explanation put two more on the property. They haven't even had a sample in the lab and now they are fast tracking ... they aren't stupid ... they do things for a reason. Midway Gold is left scratching their heads but extremely elated. Two rigs are doing definition drilling to prove up reserves and two are doing exploration to try and find the size of this potentially huge deposit which to this point is open in all directs including depth. As we all know, Newmont is not interested in small deposits and don't make a habit of wasting their time. Newmont calls Nevada home and is an expert on gold mining in Nevada. Midway who owns 30% is trading at $2.13 with less then 20M shares outstanding. Newmont had initially forecast Phase I to be done in June but with Two more rigs on the property of course that should change. The rest you can research for yourselves on the Midway Gold website. Read their news releases and form your own conclusions.
