The American Electronics Association study said that data about jobs going overseas is unreliable, and claims about the significance of the trend are exaggerated. It compared the situation to the hysteria in the 1980s, when fears ran high that Japan would soon dominate the U.S. as an economic power. The study also showed that many companies weren't sending Tech jobs overseas for cheaper wages, but rather to take advantage of stronger math and science skills. In other words, there's a demand in the U.S. for people to obtain stronger technical skills that isn't being met. Let's see if politicians calling for curbs on outsourcing pay attention.

An interesting statistic in the paper is that 60% of all Tech companies generate more than half of their revenue outside the country, making technology our largest export business -- $170 billion last year. When you export that much, it makes sense to locate some of your operations overseas, doesn't it?
