I'd like to see the entertainment industry stop glorifying the abuse of firearms. I'd like to see them start inculcating correct values about firearms:

1. All firearms are always loaded.
2. Check every gun you put your hands on to verify whether it is loaded.
3. After checking to see whether it is loaded, continue to treat it as if it were loaded. Insist that everyone who handles the firearms after you check to see whether it is loaded.
4. Never point the muzzle at something that you aren't willing to destroy.
5. Never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire.
6. All guns are always loaded.

This is just a start. There are other principles, but these will keep you out of trouble. The media should be teaching them. Right now, the only people who are teaching them are the NRA and responsible gun owners.
