American Thinker - BBC Linguistic Double Standards Another telling slip that highlights BBC anti-Israel bias can be found at In this BBC online report titled: “Hamas chief attacks 'enemy' Bush.” They report on how the new Hamas leader is convinced Bush is fighting a war against Islam. In a typical throw-away line the BBC states: “Israel blames Hamas for the killing of hundreds of Israelis in suicide bombings.” (Edit - When you go to the link, the article has been removed. When you find the article, the line in the article is no longer there. Nice.) So, according to the BBC they don’t know for sure that Hamas do commit suicide bombings – even though Hamas admit it themselves. Only a few lines down the BBC goes on to say: "In 2003, he (Rantissi) survived an Israeli assassination attempt similar to that which killed Sheikh Yassin.” Note that in the case of the Israelis and their assassinations there is no such soft language such as “blame” or “allegedly.” The contrast in how they treat the two sides could not be sharper. As usual the BBC uses the most outrageous semantics to make its audience believe anything other than the truth. americanthinker.com
