Clinton's Monica hi-jinx caused the country to become skeptical that his bombing of al Qaeda camp in Afghan'n was just a diversionary tactic. So, Pres Clinton's teenage springbreak activities in WH were principal reason he detected a negative reaction from the public to the bombings, & decided not to take further action against al Qaeda training camps. He missed the golden opportunity to stop bin Laden in his tracks but he did not have courage enough to do it when public opinion indicated we felt he was bombing to distract us from Monica. Notice: Bush Adm continues to support their convictions in Iraq even though most liberals have entered their "criticize anything that moves" mode. Leadership is having the courage to act on your convictions, even if almost half the population doesn't agree with you at the time. Pres Clinton had more information than the public. Unfortunately he lacked political courage.
