If your point is that Clarke should have been listened to

No....my point is that there were a lot of things that could have been done by the Bush administration and weren't. Clarke has provided some credible evidence...his statements *ring true* to my recollection of the events leading up to the war wrt to a fixation on Iraq. Also I am not aware of pre 9/11 high level security measures. If you flew prior to 9/11 were your bags searched? Were the bags of the other passengers on the plane searched? Bush needs to come clean with this instead of attacking Clarke or stop making unsubstantiated claims.

9/11 happened on Bush's watch. The Bush administration seems to be claiming they did everything possible to prevent it...that doesn't ring true.

If the Bush administration did everything possible prior to 9/11 then why did they change security measures after 9/11?

IMO they were caught off guard and know it...unfortunate but acceptable...we all make mistakes. Bush needs to stop pretending his priorities were other than they were. Bush is developing a credibility problem.
