They don't have to get that oblique to go after Harper. The attacks that are coming will make what was done to Stockwell Day look like high praise.

People may indeed think Klein is a conservative. What he is in fact is a political opportunist with a populist gift. He has a better sense of knowing what his constituency cares about and wants to hear than pretty much any other politician active in Canada today. Of course it helps that his constituency, relative to most in Canada, is fairly homogenous. I suspect that Alberta is probably the easiest province in Canada to govern, which is one of the many reasons Day failed -- Alberta isn't even minor leagues next to federal politics.

Give Ralph his dues. He's good at the game of politics. Now if you care about policy, that's another matter altogether.
