The book is a story of the truth as one believes it to be and who, so far, has been able to back up his claims.
He's backed up nothing. We have him on tape and in print, contradicting his claims and admitting he is a liar. His credibility has gone - **poof**. That is why only about 20% of Americans believe he is telling the truth and why fully 50% believe he is lying.
The Bushies, on the other hand, have looked weak and suspicious in their unwillingness to cooperate and testify publically under oath....
Sixty-six percent, almost 70% of Americans, declare Clarke has had no impact on Bush at all. A fraction, around 18% (leftists) claim Clarke has hurt Bush. Ten percent claim Clarke has helped Bush. The vast majority of Americans, fully six out of every ten, think Bush has done an excellent job fighting terror. A whopping seventy percent think Clinton was a failure on defending America. This is shaping up to be exactly the sort of Democrat nightmare I predicted it would be.
You, sir, are living in a leftist fantasy, one in which I do very much hope you remain. If the GOP keeps up their pressure, now turning deftly from Clarke to slam Democrats generally on their eight-year failure to defend America, Democrats will continue to suffer tremendously.
Clarke issued a bigger challenge today when he asked to have all of his testimony declassified and released as wel as his e-mails and Condi's replies....
He thought he was being smart. his arrogance and stupidity is so great, he could not see he has further dug the Democrats' grave. Here is how the GOP should deal with this little "challenge," as you so ignorantly call it. The GOP merely needs hammer the following points:
1. That Democrats care so little about terrorism and national security, they would actually demand declassification of all our 911 correspondence simply to gratify their need for political posturing.
2. That the emails will never be released because Bush cares about national security
3. That the real issue, the issue the Democrats do not wish to address, is Clarke's perjury under oath, and that since Clarke's and Rice's memos were not written under oath, they are irrelevant. Clarke's testimony, since it was given under oath, is most relevant and as such ONLY IT should be declassified.
Hahahaha. You folks are dead meat. There is no way you could handle this. The GOP merely needs to hammer these points and the game here is up.
What's wrong with that...should please everyone, right?????
Nope. The truth is, the goal ought not be declassification. The goal ought to be to get Clarke to do exactly what he is doing, flapping his gums and causing more Democrat grief.
We all want the truth, don't we? What are the odds, Bush will comply?
He ought not comply at all. I hope this thing goes on for weeks, as Bush heads to Peoria to talk about our strong and happy future. |
