Rubble,
I readily admit I do not have Tuna's admirable good nature nor sport his thick skin--but i did apologize for that diatribe. If you dont think it was sufficient, I'll try to offer a better one to Tuna. I dont think Tuna needs anyone to defend him--he is more than a match. If he cant obfuscate or discombobulate, he buries me with a blizzard of posts (I swear he must dictate and have his secretary type these)in a blatant attempt to overwhelm me(and succeeds).
I think you can understand my apparent confusion, thinking your post was directed specifically at me as it was in fact addressed to me and I dont see anyone else around here talking about expensive software. I guess being from the South, I took "you people" to mean the same as "ya'll"--which, although plural, is often used in the singular.
I do spend ~$30 a quarter to access the Edgar database prior to its free release--and do spend time there except for the last few days when I've let this thread monopolize my time.
You'll have to point out where I said TA is not very good for short term trading--I believe I said the opposite--or if not, sure meant to. I think I said I dont see how anyone can trade short-term without TA, relying only on FA. I did not say TA indicators constantly change DIRECTION, would be sorta useless if they did, rather I said they change constantly as new data is received. It is a dynamic process. There is a huge difference when you insert DIRECTION. Sorry, Rubble, but if it apparently makes no difference to you if you insert that word direction into your paraphrasing, it tells me that you know virtually nothing about modern TA. It boggles my mind how you can dismiss out of hand something you know nothing about, and if I'm assuming too much, then it sure still applies to your knowledge of Advanced GET, of impulse Elliot Wave analysis, Gann line analysis(which, incidentally, predates your pattern recognition by some 40 years--1910 vs 1948 when Edwards and Magee wrote the "bible" of pattern recognition--"Technical Analysis of Stock Trends". Wont even mention that Fibonnaci was a 13th century mathematician, so that these concepts are far older than pattern r., just easier applied via computer. |
