many many unversities will replicate the cold fusion experiment There were lots of replications last time too. Stanford "confirmed" it. But, as time went on, more and more people just didn't seem to be able to get their wishful thinking up high enough. And the tide turned. Report after report of non-confirmation poured in. Pons, et al, started inventing excuses about how the other guys had screwed up. Except they had to keep inventing excuses for so long that it wore thin and it was discovered that the emperor was naked. Again, I think you are letting your wish for conspiracy theories to be true drive your ratiocination.
