There's no incentive to treat terrorists as regular army, covered by the Geneva Convention.

Treaties are multilateral, or at least bilateral, which means - and this is very important - they are reciprocal. You give to me, I give to you. You scratch my back, I scratch yours. You treat my soldiers well, I'll treat your soldiers well.

If bin Laden and Al Qaeda want to be covered by the Geneva Convention, they'll have to give, as well as take.

Oddly - perhaps you can explain this oddness - for people who complain when their own membership are not treated nicely, bin Laden and Al Qaeda never treat their prisoners according to the various Geneva conventions.

Maybe they need to brush up on Treaties 101. Or maybe they don't need no steenking treaties? Just a thought.
