Jochen, Thanks for the link.. I use outlook not OE and the option that Gotfried mentioned is not in Outlook (OE click tools>options>security and UNcheck the second box ['do not allow attachments).

Another oddity about the mail with attachments is that the email doesn’t get through at all. No text or attachment. It is as if the message was never sent even though it is in my sent folder.
