Much has been written in the press about how this market is
lining up similar to 1987.

I have conducted a little back-research and find the only
similarity to be that in both cases the Dow was extended
and overpriced. But that's all.

See the enclosed chart of Interest rates comparing
Bonds Now and Then. (The charts scale is inverted to
show "rates" not prices.)
Similar exercises using the Dollar, Advance/Decline and
10 Day High-low indexes show similar differences.
