I hope you are right about Rice. I know she will be under heavy attack, from both Democrats and the Democrats who call themselves Republicans. I read a transcript of an interview with two members of the commission, one Dem, one Republican. The Republican claimed the commission would not allow the commission to be politicized (what an idiot, as if it hasn't been already). He claimed Rice has already testified and that no one thought she would have a problem under oath and that she would do very well. As he spoke, the Democrat was shaking his head. When asked if he disagreed, he said something like "I agree that she testified."
The Democrats are now desparate to abuse her in order to try to get away from the noose that they allowed to get around their necks. The leftist Republicans, in their extreme naivete, are about the allow them to succeed. If Rice, pulls this off, Bush will owe her a huge debt of gratitude because it appears at this juncture that she cannot win.
Rach is great, lushy, but great. If we are talking Russians roughly in his period, I prefer both Shostakovich and Prokofiev. They are a bit more soulful in my opinion. |
