Oh, Mr Nephew. Where to begin?

Well, I'll just jump in; this won't take long.

What I would like to know is why is this pension fund so important
to UPS?

Because UPS is paying WAY over their share to the Teamster pension
pool. Why is that? Because other companies who contribute to the pool
are often delinquent. When other companies fail to pay in to the
pension pool UPS, who has never missed a payment, ends up paying
pensions for employees that never worked for UPS. Why should
UPS pay pensions for individuals that never worked for them?

God knows UPS management is not looking out for the pension fund
for the employees' sake.

I have a feeling you haven't spoken with Him lately. To Whom else,
besides the Teamster bosses, is the pension fund benefitting?

I have heard none of you mention that you are shareholders.
Well, Mr. Nephew that's probably because

UPS IS NOT A PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY!!

God knows we can't have wage inflation - some of this hard earned
wealth (hardearned by shareholders - shareholding is hard work!)may
trickle down to those overpaid morons who make up 95% of the company

The UPS workers are the shareholders, Mr. Nephew - they are
the only shareholders. The only moron I know here is the one that
wrote post #34, this thread.

We all hate these damned blue collar schmucks rabble rousing for
control of THEIR pension and more full time work.

Speak for yourself.

We hate that they are willing to go on strike so that more of their
fellow workers can get full time jobs ($20 vs $11 an hour, I believe.)

You, of course, believe incorrectly. $20/hr plus IS the high-end for
part-time work. The figure you proffered is an average.

Clearly this strike has little to do with UPS and UPS workers,
otherwise it would not be frustrating so many of you.

Frustrating to us, Mr. Nephew? Yours is the most angry, bitter,
sarcastic post I've read on SI - bar none.

Alas, I grow weary of your emotion-filled inaccuracies. The whole
premise upon which you based your most recent diatribe is a lie, or
at best, an obfuscation and that is that we, on this thread, are a
bunch of greedy shareholders. Shareholders in a company that isn't
even public. Tsk, tsk Mr. Nephew.

Oh if only you could retract that post; but alas SI only allows 15
minutes to modify, or in your case, delete a post.

Damn capitalism ...
'nuff said. I think that pretty much sums it up, Mr. Nephew.

Regards,
Bill
