<What racist tripe!> Rice herself said she owed her job at Stanford to affirmative action -- a fairly meaningless job to which she was well-suited. In comparison, she has shown herself to be completely incapable of living up to her responsibilities as national security advisor in the days leading up to 9/11 and its immediate aftermath and the runup to the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Articulate? I have never heard so much empty verbal bumbling in my life. Honesty? I have never once heard her give a straight answer. Intelligent? Not on terrorism where her ignorance cost people their lives. Effective? She has never been able to influence major decisions or to help coordinate major agencies -- including the failures that led to 9/11. It is unfortunate that incompetence cannot be prosecuted in the courts -- at the very least, she should have been fired when her lack of competence and effectiveness became so glaringly obvious. Other than that, I have no opinion on Rice.
