Exactly. Unlike religion that relies on FAITH, science needs PROOF. In this case, generating of energy through nuclear fusion on near-room temperatures.

No doubt, those who are interested in proving a controversal theory are fighting an uphill battle when all the official sources for funding and patent protection are cut off

I cannot agree that corporations are not working on cold fusion because there is no government funding. Sure, it probably affects the efforts of public sector scientists. But R&D departments of corporations who know they breeze past Microsoft, not to mention all those Saudi princes if they manage to harness fusion? I don't think so.

That should not be necessary. The way to silence, and in fact convert, all sceptics is proof. Generate energy through cold fusion. Show it to the masses. Publish your method. Let it be repeated in labs around the world. Watch critics become fans overnight. End of story.
